The most pious and the holy month; Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and the month of fasting and when Muslims throughout the world seek forgiveness by fasting and abstaining from bad deeds. It is the holiest period for the Islamic faith and indeed the most important part of Islam.

Ramadan is all about rejuvenating; it’s obligatory for Muslims to abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs during the day in order to purify their souls. It is like self-sacrifice and believers are enabled to rebuilt their faith and ask for forgiveness. Muslims also refrain from physical wants and almost all sinful deeds are avoided; Ramadan is a month that gives them hope and nourishes them with its blessings.

It is must for every follower to keep himself pure and clean in the month of Ramadan. One’s body and mind must be clear and wishes are fulfilled by Allah if asked with heart. Forbidden practices such as backbiting, telling lies, abusing, gossiping and obscene conversations are avoided throughout Ramadan. Good eating habits are encouraged and this really helps a Muslim to maintain his or her routine according to Islam. Most Muslims refrain from listening to music and watching TV soaps and other invalid programs. When fasting; one must avoid music, false TV shows and above all, obscenities.

Islam is a great religion, which guides its followers to live a simple and peaceful life that is free from sins and stains. The holy month is the only month is Islamic calendar, which opens the doors of forgiveness for every believer. All the sins are forgiven by almighty Allah if a believer seeks for forgiveness eagerly and passionately.

Fasting is obligatory for every Muslim men and women. It starts at the break of dawn and it ends at sunset, every day in Ramadan. Fasting is not necessary for those who are mentally disabled, for older individuals, and for ill. There is no obligation on pregnant women, small children who are not adolescent and travelers.

In this blissful holy month, Muslims lives are re-evaluated according to the Islamic guidance. The blessing of this month changes the life of a believer and there is a virtuous essence in the air throughout the month of Ramadan. Family and friends connections are strengthened and, one cleans up his mind body and soul to lead a pure peaceful life. Fasting in Arabic means ‘Sawn’ (to refrain); fasting in the holy month of Ramadan is just not about forbearing food and drink, it is also necessary for a Muslim to refrain from evil actions, thoughts and words.

Great Ideas:

Make this year’s Ramadan a special one; plan a get together at your house, invite all of your closest relatives at Iftar (when the fast is broken). Try this once a week; there are 30 days of fasting in Ramadan. An Iftar with friends would be a great way to keep the ties stable. Do not forget to send Ramadan text messages to all your friends and relatives – Ramadan greetings are always cherish-able.

Mother is half of the Father/Mother team, the one who gave origin to you as a child. She is the one that changed your diaper, gave you your bottle, bathed and dressed you. She is the one who be cared for you when you were sick, wishes she could have borne your pain, but unable to even share it with you. There is none like a Mother. She is the genuine personality of human world. Mothers are the one on whom we put all the blame for our disappointment. We would not falter once to point her single artificial pas though she would not miss even a slightest chance to praise us. Isn’t it tough to imagine how she must have borne our temper irritability when we were teenagers?

If you have children, then you know what it’s like to be a Mother. Often, it’s a tough job, with disobedient children, and much heartache before they are grown. Sometimes a Mother is lucky that she has well-disciplined children, but only because she has done her best in order for them to be well-adjusted teenagers and later adults. Mostly, Mother sits and fears that she hasn’t done her best with her children, especially if they don’t turn out as she thought they should, with all the training she had given them. And how tough we must have made her life by behaving so boorish and complicated. And yet she was so amazingly cool. It is easy for the kids to be so difficult from parents, especially mothers as we take her warmth and care so much for granted. Most often to the extent of egoism. Mother’s Day is the right time to apologies for all the troubles that we gave to our moms, without even realizing at most times how troublesome we must have been to her. A simple way to wish your mom is mother day SMS.

Mothers are special. If so, try to make this Mother’s Day the most wonderful day of her life! A Mother’s Day SMS will not take long hours just few moments will make your mum feel special on that day. Show her you care if only by telling her you love her. Take her out to eat, take her flowers, but show up on Mother’s Day, if possible. You will never know how much this helps Mother to realize her family still cares. Sometimes we get busy doing the usual things in life, and lose sight of the most important phase – loving our family. And Mother happens to be where that ‘family’ began. Without Mother, there would never have been a family. There is simply no way we can ever really thank mother for all she has done for us. She is the one who will be awake all night when we are sick. Praying to God to make us healthy and be ever ready to bear the pain that we may face. She is the one to wake up early in the morning to make the nicest tiffin and tolerate all our crabbiness. Mothers are the ones who would forever complain that we are not eating enough or not eating right. So, celebrating mother’s day would turn out to be days for your mother a SMS will make her feel special. Enjoy mothers day with your mother, you never know she might not exist next year.

Easter eggs, baby animals and baby chicks signify new life, the rabbit, or hare, reminds us of the abundant life and spring. The white blossoms (lilies) symbolize the purity of Jesus. The cross symbolizes Jesus’ victory over death. Easter hats & wearing new clothes for Easter indicates new life offered through the death and reappearance of Jesus. Hot cross buns have a cross of icing on the top to remind people of Christ. Candles stand for Jesus, "the light of the world". Pretzels, a food eaten during lent, the twisted shaped denotes arms crossed in prayer. The Butterfly is one of the significant symbols of Easter. Its whole life cycle is meant to symbolize the life of Jesus Christ. The first stage is the caterpillar, which stands for His life on Earth. Second phase begins from the cocoon stage, portraying the crucifixion and funeral of Jesus. The third and final stage is the butterfly, representing His raising from the dead in a glorified body and peace.

All these things are the sign of love and affection for Jesus Christ, on this unique occasion of Easter. Easter SMS plays a striking role in greeting your loved ones. The grand occasion that reminds you of the golden and crimson eggs and chocolate bunnies, the hot cross buns, is also a springtime festival. As if the Almighty had chosen this glorious season for the reappearance and adoration of Jesus Christ, the son of mother Marry

Throughout the country Easter is celebrated as a great spring holiday. People lay tables for Easter dinner with enchanting embellishment of colored eggs and early flowers. Sweetbread stuffed with raisins and currant, is one of the favorite dishes of the Easter dinner. Many families arrange for an Easter hunt in their homes or gardens to see who can find the most eggs on Easter Sunday morning. They then share a meal with their relatives, by inviting them via Easter SMS, or other means. Traditionally this has consisted of roast lamb, beef or chicken with roasted vegetables like potatoes, carrots, pumpkin.

Easter is enjoyed by exchange of Easter Eggs and other nifty gifts. Gift range may vary from anything between money, clothes, chocolate or go on holidays together. Some people make Easter bonnets or baskets, which have things like daffodils in them or mini eggs. Children sometimes go to a local community center to enter an Easter bonnet competition to see whose bonnet is the best and the winner gets an Easter egg.

In Africa, Easter has a social facet as well as a spiritual one. At Easter, families come together. They share special food with Christians and non-Christians indulging in boiled or roasted rice with meat or chicken. In some places, the people remain around the church after gathering and sit in their small Christian society to continue the celebration of eating and drinking, as ceremonial dances and entertainments continue around them.

The purpose of this contentment and carnival is to spread love, peace, brotherhood and tranquility, all over the world via SMS, e-mails or telephones.

Christmas is a religious festival celebrated by Christians on 25 December. It holds an immense importance in Christianity because it’s the day when Jesus Christ’s miraculous birth took place. Thus, it marks the history not only for Christianity but also for Islamic believers.

Christmas is the time of the year when all the family members get together leaving behind their busy schedule. People visit their friends and family’s big dinners are hosted and presents are exchanged. People also visit the church with their families, sing hymns and carols and also do charitable work by giving to the less fortunate. They reunite at this time of the year. This does not only hold importance for adults, Christmas is extremely popular in younger generation and kids. Children wait whole year for Christmas and behave themselves so that Santa will bring them charming presents. People decorate their houses their neighborhoods and the most popular thing is the decoration of the Christmas tree. The tradition of bringing a tree into the home and decorating it came from a fable regarding Saint Boniface.

Christmas History and Santa Claus:

As far as the history of Christmas goes it was not celebrated until the 5th century when the Roman Catholic Church ordered for this day to be celebrated.

One of the most noticeable items of Christmas is Santa Claus. All year round children around the world behave themselves and do good deeds waiting for the arrival of their beloved Santa Claus to bring them presents. People tell children stories about his goodness and generous nature and portray him as the real lover of children. Santa Claus was actually a bishop who lived in minor Asia in the 4th century his name was Nicholas. He did exist but all these magical attributes connected to him are untrue. In the old days he would put a tanjareen in a stocking that would hang at the end of their bed if they were good but if they were bad they would get a lump of coal. Children write a letter to Santa telling him how good they’ve been all year and asking for all the things they want for Christmas and then on the night Santa rides around in the sky in his slay pulled by reindeers delivering the presents by going down the chimney and putting them under the Christmas tree.

I believe that the whole idea of Santa Claus on Christmas is about sharing and giving to the less fortunate and so adults tell these stories to children to make them more generous and behave well.

What you can do this Christmas:

Christmas is all about celebrating the miraculous birth of a great prophet Jesus Christ. It’s all about spending time with your loved ones and sharing presents and sharing your joys with the people who are less fortunate than us. It’s a great time for us, as it gives us an opportunity to reunite with our dearest. On this Christmas, make sure that you wish all your fellows and loved ones by sending Christmas SMS, and not to forget the glittering gifts.

Diwali is one of the most celebrated festivals in the world and is highly famous for the thriving atmosphere that one gets to experience during the occasion. This festival of lights is celebrated throughout the world by Hindus and people from other religions contribute in the celebration as well. It’s a significant festival for Hindus, Sikhs and Jains; for Hindus, it’s the time that signifies victory over darkness.

The Bright Celebrations:

Diwali is a 5 days celebration; it is celebrated ancestrally and is famous amongst children due to the unique sweets, which are exclusively distributed during the festival. It is celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm; firecrackers are exploded by both seniors and junior and every corner of the city is decorated with vibrant lightings and lanterns. A lot of shopping is done for the occasion; women normally buy new dresses and glittery bangles, which are exclusively designed for Diwali. Both young girls and women apply mehndi on their hands and feet; mehndi are basically henna tattoos which are temporary and are applied as a form of skin decoration.

The first day of Diwali is known as Dhanteras; according to Hinduism, buying gold, household items or utensil on this day is auspicious. Many people gift golden leaf as it is considered to bring good luck. On the first day of Diwali, people take an oil bath and wear new clothes in order to participate in a special prayer (known as pooja). This prayer is called pooja of Goddess Laxmi; this pooja is compulsory for every Hindi and during this, whole of the house is decorated with diyas, which are actually Diwali lamps or candles. Playing with firecracker during the occasion is a great experience; these firecrackers are exclusively sold during the festival. It’s the perfect time when families and friends get together and several dinners are hosted as a part of the celebration. Special sweets are prepared for the celebration, which makes Diwali an important festival for the small children.

Diwali Gifts:

Exchanging Diwali gifts is one of the main traditions; beautiful bangles and dresses are exchanged amongst women. People exchange gifts on Diwali according to their affordability, however giving expensive gifts of gold and silver is a tradition. It’s one of the happiest moments for both Hindus and participants; exchanging vibrant gifts during the occasion adds more charm to it. Giving gifts such as silver statues of Gods (e.g Ganesh, Laxmi etc) and unique wall hangings are also appreciated. Friends and lovers wish each other by gifting flowers, dry-fruits, sweets and other unique gifts.

What You Can Do On This Diwali:

On this Diwali, make sure that you decorate your home with beautiful decorations and vibrant Diwali lanterns. Hosting a special family dinner would be great way to get in touch with your relatives and loved ones. Keep in mind; Diwali celebration would be incomplete if the firecracker aren’t added, but make sure that you take precautions. Taking care of the juniors of the family is important; don’t let them play with fire.

Don’t forget to wish your friends and dear ones by sending Diwali text messages and e-card. Sending Diwali SMS is a great way of wishing friends and as Diwali is associated with prosperity, gifting a beautiful gold ring would be the best way of expressing love.

Halloween and its History:

Halloween is a famous festival that is celebrated on 31 October worldwide; it is a secular festival and is also known as the “All Saints Day”. Halloween has its roots in the Celtic Beliefs of Samhain and according to the ancient Celts; it’s the time when the souls of the dead blend with the living world; it was also believed that these dead souls were dangerous and for safety purposes these ancient Celts used to extinguish any kind of fire in their houses and they wore gruesomely-styled costumes. They thought that by these practices, these disembodied spirits would not cause any damage; they also made parades through the streets in which they would scream and make chaos.

With the course of time, the customs and traditions, which were inherited by these ancient Celts, became famous in ancient Rome and further. In 1840′s, Halloween was introduced in United States by the early Irish settlers who left their country to escape from the starvation and death due to the shortage of food. Today, Halloween is celebrated throughout the world and various countries have their own special way of enjoying this occasion.

Halloween around the World:

If you ever do a research regarding how Halloween is celebrated in different countries, you would notice that this festival is celebrated in several ways. In Austria, it is believed that souls from the dead could be welcomed by leaving a lighted candle & bread before going to bed at night. Not just that it is a tradition there, it’s a rule for all. Halloween is also celebrated in China; Chinese celebrates this festival by putting food items and drinks in front of the photos of their deceased relatives and according to them, this helps the dead souls to accomplish their way to heaven. In many countries, fireworks and bonfire are lighted for the celebration. Halloween is referred as the Oban festival in Japan; streets and houses are decorated with charming lanterns, which are usually red in color; these red lanterns are also set to be afloat in the rivers during the occasion.
Halloween is celebrated with zeal and joy in Canada as well; people celebrate the occasion by wearing costumes, children often go trick ‘n’ treating and houses are decorated with lanterns and other great Halloween decorations. In many countries, Halloween is a traditional holiday; it is one of those holidays, which is highly awaited by people where the festival’s celebration is mandatory. Halloween is celebrated in some parts of France; it is not taken as a holiday there but it is celebrated by locals every year.

People of Germany celebrate the occasion with great enthusiasm and you would amaze to see how eagerly Halloween is celebrated in the country. The markets, city centers and all areas are highly decorated with vibrant lightings and Halloween themed decorations. This great festival is also celebrated in Italy, Mexico, Spain and UK.

Celebrating Halloween:

As Halloween is an important festival, make sure that celebrate it to the fullest. There is a lot you can do on this Halloween; do not forget to wear a uniquely spooky costume. Wish your dear ones by sending Halloween SMS, greeting cards and great gifts.

No culture is complete without its festivals. Be it music, film, art or religion they have a way of expressing common held values. Especially in the Western world, festivals have their own way of evolving in their types.

Festival as the word might suggest almost always is sure to contain food. In fact huge religious festivals like Eid and Christmas are categorized by country to country often on the basis of food people would like prefer. For example in Burma, a list of over a dozen Eid specialties are made with include Halwa (sweet), different soups and noodles with fish and chicken, samosa salad, exotic curries, you have to be there to believe it. On the other hand in England, a Christmas meal would include turkey, sausages, pudding and fruit cake and vegetables and minced pies.

Eid is a beautiful time, a day when everything goes perfect. No frustrations and no thought of reaching work in the morning. It`s like one dream day when you are supposed to meet as many people as you like. Everyone is going to welcome you, and you can expect all your loved ones to come and surprise you, the sparks of commotion. Long separated relatives and friends actually scream, if you want to call it greeting, love and excitement is in the air.

Unlike the other Eid, it’s customary for small children to get candy allowance also called “Eidi.” This keeps the little ones from resenting to go to people they don’t know with accompanying elders because: “You`ll get Eidi anyway!” In India, almost all Indian households cook sweet noodle-like delicacy made with rich milk called “Sawanyan” or “Sawyan.” So no matter where you go, you can expect to quickly receive a hot bowl of Sawanyan accompanied by varied food items, which can also kind of be a surprise, because apart from the customary items, people only cook what they can best cook on their household menu. It is worth to know that Indian women spend about half of their lives in from of the stove, very hospitable but emotionally expressive people.

So with all the love and sparks around, what are the side effects of such a mega phenomenal event, well I can think of one! Unlike Christmas, prices of everything hike during month of Holy Ramadan, and that can especially true at the end of month when the Eid arrives. Still there is one off setting factor, this is Alms-giving or “Zakat.” It’s the most equitable wealth distribution system in the world where all the rich give to all the poor. But this is also strictly according to set standards, so nobody give more or less than according to their position and capability. Money stuck in a few hands can now circulate and be invested in smaller circles bringing overall stability and strength to general society.

On some Eids, people find themselves in long distance relationship blues because they are in a different city than a lot of their friends and relatives. It happens to me, but still there is no need to worry. You can expect a crowd of Eid text messages according to your social circle. So pick up that phone and send a fruity, colorful and picturesque Eid SMS greeting, and there`s not a chance that you won’t get an instant, hearty reply. Well, not unless they love you as much as you love them!

Father’s Day is one of the famous events, which are celebrated throughout the world, every year. It’s that time of the year when a father receive presents and is thanked for all the hard work which he had done for his children. Father’s Day has been celebrated since the year 1910; sons and daughters (who really love their fathers) give gifts to their fathers and try to make the day worth remembering.

What are you doing on this Father’s Day? There are many ways of spending the day – luckily, we get to celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday, and our fathers are usually at home, relaxing. Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June; this year we will be celebrating the day on June 20. It is going to be your father’s day off from work; so you have many chances to make him proud of you.

Starting the Day:

Many people start this day by making a fine breakfast for their fathers. Check when your father wakes up; wish him “Happy Father’s Day” by giving him a greeting card accompanied by a delicious breakfast. Make sure that everything in the breakfast includes whatever that your father likes. Serve it nicely; see for the decent breakfast servings and give it a kind of look that your father usually does not sees while having his breakfast before going to work. If you are father drinks tea or coffee with his breakfast; then make sure that a hot mug of tea is added. If not tea, then a fresh juice would be the best choice.

The Perfect Afternoon:

Now that your father is aware of his big day, he has been satisfied. He might take you out for a picnic or cruising – restaurants are usually the first places, which come to mind. It would be fun hanging out with your dad on the Father’s Day; if you know how to drive, make sure that you drive him to the restaurant or anywhere else, where he would love to go. Give him a surprise by paying the bills yourself – he might prohibit you from doing that; however this would make him feel a lot good at the occasion. If the weather is pleasant, then visit the best park in the town and have walk with him – this might be a boring idea for many but it’s the most simply way of spending the best memorable time with your father – share your thoughts and thank him for all that he’s done for you. I know most of the people will not prefer this “park” idea, but some would.

A Memorable Evening:

Grab a new DVD movie that has just got released; make sure your father likes it – it totally depends on his movie genre. Other than that, make sure that your father’s favorite meal is ready to be served at the dinner. It would be great if you cook for your father’s favorite.

In the end, make sure that you give your father and warm hug on the Father’s Day. Let him know how much you adore him and how proud you are to have him in your life. Promise your father that you’ll make him proud and will support him in all phases of life.

Unfortunately, if your dad is away from the city and will not be around on this big day, wish him by sending Father’s Day text messages. Many people send Father’s Day SMS on this day to express their love to their fathers. Have a Great Father’s Day.
